U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced it concluded another round of strikes against Iran at 9:00 p.m. ET on July 20, targeting military command centers, maritime capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and air defense systems for the tenth consecutive night intending to degrade Iran's ability to attack commercial shipping transiting the Strait of Hormuz. According to CENTCOM, since early May, U.S. forces have helped facilitate the safe passage of approximately 900 commercial vessels carrying an estimated 450 million barrels of crude oil through the strategic waterway. CENTCOM added that U.S. forces remain postured to respond to further Iranian aggression against civilian maritime traffic.
