France's Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier group, which passed through the Suez Canal on Wednesday, is heading toward the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden as part of ongoing preparations by France and Britain to potentially reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The carrier group was initially deployed to the eastern Mediterranean following the US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran on February 28 and can remain at sea for four to five months.
