On Sunday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced via Truth Social that the U.S. Navy would begin blockading the Strait of Hormuz immediately following failed negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program. Trump ordered the Navy to stop any vessel that has paid tolls to Iran in international waters and warned of severe consequences for Iranian actions threatening ships in the strait.
