In Beijing, President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping held a two-hour meeting where they agreed to prevent the Islamic Republic of Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and to ensure the Strait of Hormuz remains open. The White House stated that both leaders also discussed expanding economic cooperation, including China's interest in purchasing more U.S. oil to reduce its reliance on the Strait of Hormuz, and preventing the entry of fentanyl precursors into the United States.
