On the Thursday at the end of the year, citizens gathered at Tehran’s Behesht-e Zahra cemetery to support the families of victims from the December 30 and 31 protests. Among those present were family members of Sepher Shakouri, whose mother expressed grief and anger towards those responsible for her son's death.

Mohsen Rezaei, the military advisor to Mojtaba Khamenei and former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, stated on Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting that the Strait of Hormuz and Iran's regional authority must not be weakened, warning of severe responses to any enemy actions to maintain deterrence for the next 50 years.
