The U.S. Secretary of State met with Qatar's Prime Minister in Miami, Florida, on Saturday, as a Qatari tanker carrying liquefied natural gas passed through the Strait of Hormuz en route to Pakistan with approval from the Islamic Republic. The U.S. State Department stated that Secretary Marco Rubio discussed the need for continued cooperation between the two countries to address threats and promote stability in the Middle East.
