Peyman Ganji, a detainee from the Iranian National Revolution in December 2022, has been sentenced to death by Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court on charges of "waging war against God" and "setting fire to public property," according to the HRA News Agency. Ganji, 33, is currently in Tehran’s Evin Prison while his case is under review by Branch 9 of the Supreme Court.

On January 9, 2026, in Isfahan, 15-year-old Ghazal Jangorban was shot by agents of the Islamic Republic regime in the Zayandeh Rud dry riverbed, sustaining three bullet wounds that led to her death. The Islamic Republic regime is accused of systematically targeting protesters, including children and teenagers, resulting in the deaths of over 40,000 Iranians in just two days.
