The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has threatened to target and destroy any ship attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz without Iran's permission, according to shipping sources. Iran's foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, previously stated that ships can only pass through the strait with official permission from Iran's armed forces.
