Brad Cooper, Commander of CENTCOM, stated that the death of Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps-Navy (IRGC-N) commander Admiral Alireza Tangsiri in an Israeli airstrike makes the region safer, noting that Tangsiri was designated as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist by the U.S. Treasury in 2019. Since the start of Operation Epic Fury, 92% of large Iranian Navy ships have been destroyed, significantly weakening the IRGC-N's ability to project power.
