On December 12, 2025, the U.S. Navy intercepted the M/V Sevan, one of 19 "shadow fleet" vessels sanctioned for transporting Iranian oil and gas, in the Arabian Sea with a helicopter from the USS Pinckney (DDG 91). The vessel is being escorted back to Iran, and this marks the 37th vessel redirected since the start of the U.S. blockade.
