On Monday, May 11, 2025, the Office of the President of South Korea confirmed and strongly condemned an attack on a cargo ship owned by a South Korean shipping company in the Strait of Hormuz earlier that month. Seoul described such attacks on civilian ships as "unacceptable" and stated that a response will be given once the source is identified.
