Data Collection
We only collect data that you voluntarily submit through our platform. This includes tip submissions, news reports, and person reports. We do not collect personal information unless you choose to provide it.
No IP Logging
We do not log IP addresses on tip submissions, news submissions, or person reports. Your identity remains anonymous unless you voluntarily provide contact information.
Cookies & Local Storage
We do not use tracking cookies. We only use functional localStorage for two purposes: remembering candle tributes on memorial pages and remembering dismissed banners. No analytics cookies or third-party tracking scripts are used.
Anonymous Submissions
All tip and news submissions are anonymous by default. We recommend using a VPN or Tor for additional safety. Contact information is optional and only used if you choose to provide it.
Media Storage
Uploaded media files are stored on Cloudflare R2 (S3-compatible cloud storage). Images are processed to remove EXIF metadata (which can contain location data and device information) before storage.
Spam Prevention
We use Cloudflare Turnstile for CAPTCHA verification on public forms. Turnstile is a privacy-preserving alternative to traditional CAPTCHAs — it does not track users across websites or collect personal information.
Analytics
We do not currently use any third-party analytics services. No data is shared with Google Analytics, Facebook, or any other advertising or analytics platform.
Third Parties
We do not sell, trade, or share your data with third parties. The only external services we use are Cloudflare (for hosting, CAPTCHA, and media storage) and our database provider.
