The Islamic Republic of Iran has announced that ships deemed "non-hostile" can pass through the Strait of Hormuz if they coordinate with Iranian authorities, according to an official letter from the Foreign Ministry to the International Maritime Organization. The letter specifies that ships associated with the United States, Israel, and other parties involved in the conflict are not eligible for such passage.
