The United States has established an enhanced security zone south of the traffic separation scheme in the Strait of Hormuz to support the safe passage of ships through the waterway, according to an advisory notice from the UK's Maritime Trade Operations center-affiliated Joint Maritime Information Center. The notice advises ships to coordinate with Omani authorities and warns of uncharted mines in the traffic separation scheme area.
