On April 7, Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called on U.S. President Donald Trump to extend his deadline for Iran by two weeks to allow diplomacy to progress. Sharif also urged Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and called for a ceasefire to facilitate peace negotiations.
