On April 13, 2026, U.S. Central Command announced the implementation of a naval blockade on all traffic to and from Iranian ports in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman starting at 10 a.m. Eastern Time (18:30 Iran time). The blockade will not impede transit through the Strait of Hormuz for ships not bound for Iran, and mariners are advised to monitor maritime safety warnings and contact U.S. naval forces if necessary.
