A senior official in the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq stated in an exclusive interview with Iran International that the Islamic Republic of Iran had no objections to Ali Zidi's appointment as Iraq's prime minister. The official also noted that Zidi has extensive political and economic ties with Iran and that the disarmament project is largely superficial until major weapons are addressed.
