Representatives from the United States and several Arab countries, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, have begun a joint meeting to discuss a draft resolution submitted to the Security Council regarding the security and freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. The draft resolution calls on Iran to immediately cease attacks and threats against commercial vessels and addresses issues of mine-laying and illegal towing in the strategic waterway.
