Following the announcement by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and U.S. President Trump that the Strait of Hormuz is open, the price of Brent crude oil has dropped by about 10 percent to around $89 per barrel, down from $120 just weeks prior. The development has also led to a sharp decline in wholesale gas prices in Britain, falling below 100 pence for the first time in six weeks.
