On March 7, 2026, 14 members of the Khabarghan Majlis in Iran refused to participate in a session aimed at recognizing Mojtaba Khamenei as his father's successor, protesting against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' (IRGC) actions and the lack of legal support. The session was held to prevent a potential campaign by the United States and Israel.
