Fighter jets believed to be F/A-18 Super Hornets or F-35C Lightning IIs from the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier in the North Arabian Sea conducted an airstrike on the 7th Tactical Fighter Base in Shiraz, Iran, on February 14, 2026. The base, home to the 72nd Tactical Fighter Squadron with 26 Sukhoi Su-24MK strike bombers, is reportedly damaged, with smoke rising from the facility.
