French President Emmanuel Macron called for extending the ceasefire in Lebanon and emphasized the need for a permanent peace that respects Lebanon's unity and sovereignty.
Mojtaba Khamenei, the brother of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has undergone three leg surgeries and hand surgery, and may require a prosthetic leg. Severe facial burns have also made speaking difficult, with plastic surgery expected to address his injuries.

On Thursday, U.S. President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that the United States "has complete control" of the Strait of Hormuz, stating no ship can pass without U.S. Navy approval until Iran reaches an agreement. Trump also commented on internal conflicts within Iran, noting hardliners are losing on the battlefield while moderates are gaining respect, and extended a ceasefire to allow Iranian officials to formulate a unified plan for negotiations.
