More than 250 people were arrested across various provinces of Iran in the past 24 hours, according to media outlets affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Mahdieh Esfandiari, an Iranian citizen who was imprisoned in France on charges of "glorifying terrorism" and recently returned to Iran, stated on television that she was forced to eat only vegetables for 237 days and was prohibited from wearing a hijab in prison. One of her charges involved supporting Hamas, a group backed by the Islamic Republic, in its armed attack on Israel.
A group of political prisoners in Tehran’s Evin Prison, including detainees from the January 2025 uprising, have issued a statement reporting ongoing torture, beatings, and denial of medical care, naming specific victims and calling for international attention to their plight.
Abolfazl Ghadyani, a political prisoner at Evin Prison, has issued a statement blaming the officials of the Islamic Republic, led by Ali Khamenei, for causing war through provocative actions and interference in regional affairs. Ghadyani also criticizes the regime's suppression of protest movements and calls for a referendum on regime change to prevent further destruction of Iran.
