Iran reports that the United States and several regional countries conducted strikes against targets in the Strait of Hormuz area.
The spokesperson of the Central "Khatam al-Anbiya" Headquarters stated that the U.S. Army violated the ceasefire by targeting an Iranian oil tanker in Iran's Jask region and another ship near Fujairah port, and also conducting aerial assaults on civilian areas in Khormir Port, Sirik, and Qeshm Island. In response, Iran's armed forces reportedly inflicted significant damage on U.S. military vessels in the eastern Strait of Hormuz and south of Chabahar Port.

On the evening of Thursday, May 7, 2026, Fars News Agency, affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, reported that sections of the Bahman Pier on Qeshm Island in Hormozgan Province were targeted following reports of explosions in the area. The news agency stated that the commercial sections of the pier were hit during an exchange of fire between Iranian armed forces and the enemy, referencing previous missile attacks during Israeli and American military strikes earlier in the year.
The U.S. representative at the United Nations, in a joint press conference with officials from Arab countries, called on Iran to remove mines from the Strait of Hormuz and cease collecting tolls from ships passing through the strait.
Russia and China are expected to use their veto power to block a resolution on the Strait of Hormuz proposed jointly by Bahrain and the United States, according to multiple international media outlets.

IRGC-owned Tasnim News cites sources reporting that explosions in Bandar Abbas were due to air defense systems engaging two micro-drones. Additionally, there are unconfirmed reports of hostile action by the UAE at Bahman Pier in Qeshm.
