U.S. sources told Axios that the United States is considering a plan to seize Kharg Island within 48 hours to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, following President Trump's threat to attack Iranian power plants if the Strait is not re-opened by then.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) threatened on Sunday that if the United States targets Iran's power plants, the Strait of Hormuz "will be completely closed." Earlier, Donald Trump warned that the U.S. would destroy Iran's power plants if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened "fully and without threat" within 48 hours.
On Sunday, the Israeli army announced that its air force conducted extensive strikes on key facilities and infrastructure in Tehran, including military bases, weapon production sites, and intelligence headquarters affiliated with the Islamic Republic and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
