The U.S., Lebanon, and Israel signed a trilateral framework agreement today, following multiple rounds of government and military-to-military negotiations between Israel and Lebanon in Washington D.C. over the last 2 months. This framework agreement, while not a final agreement, compounds on and seeks to begin the implementation of the joint Israel-U.S.-Lebanon statement on June 3, which called for the cessation of hostilities, implementation of withdrawal frameworks, and the Lebanese Armed Forces administrating key contested areas in Southern Lebanon.
