Iran’s parliament speaker responded to President Trump’s naval blockade, stating that American threats have no effect on the Iranian nation and that the United States must earn Iran’s trust through actions rather than rhetoric.
On the order of U.S. President Trump, the U.S. Navy, using two Arleigh Burke-class destroyers—USS Michael Murphy (DDG-112) and USS Frank E. Petersen Jr. (DDG-121)—is tasked with sinking any commercial vessel that has paid tolls to or been permitted by the Islamic regime of Iran to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
