On March 16, 2026, Israeli attacks in Tehran killed Ismail Ahmadi, deputy commander of the Basij and head of its intelligence section, and Gholamreza Soleimani, commander of the Basij force. Ahmadi was later buried in Ab-pakhsh, Bushehr Province.
